The context
In Mauritius, we play padel with friends, four at a time. Setting up a match meant an endless WhatsApp thread: who’s in, what time, which club, and who books the court. I built Padelcrew so it all fits in one link.
The challenge
You open it from WhatsApp, answer in five seconds, close it. No account, no password, and yet it should feel like a real iPhone app.
My answer
A web app designed like an iOS app: everything you tap sits under your thumb, a single green, and a 3D court you spin with a finger, with teams balanced by each player’s level. I drew the logo and the smiling ball, then coded the app end to end.
The result
Live at padelcrew.fr and installable on the home screen: a match comes together in one link, everyone knows who books the court, and each player gets their profile back with Face ID.
What Padelcrew can do
Create a match on your day, at your time and club, following the club’s slots
Invite through WhatsApp, no account needed: one tap for “I’m in” or “Can’t make it”
Balance the teams by each player’s level, on a 3D court you spin with a finger
Move the first substitute up as soon as a spot opens
Pick who books, message the club in one tap, then head off with Waze, Apple Maps or Google Maps
Keep your profile with Face ID and let everyone know when the match changes
